SRC Quality Systems Manager in Syracuse, New York

Position Description

SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a quality systems manager. This leader will be responsible for implementation of quality management systems, process methodologies, customer performance management, and quality tools. They will develop and implement ISO9001 and AS9100 compliant quality management systems (QMS) and achieve ISO9001:2015 and AS9100:2016 registration. Other responsibilities include providing expertise in the areas of quality assurance, compliance, governance and pocess management, as needed, to support command media, quality process specifications, and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements and regulations. Additionally, the successful candidate will ensure we satisfy the requirements of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) - Maturity Level 3.


  • Audit planning and execution
  • Document control and coordination for new process releases and existing process revisions
  • Maintenance and oversight of corrective/preventive actions
  • Support for continual improvement initiatives that include Six Sigma, Lean and Value Stream methodologies
  • Formal root-cause analysis and process mapping for new process development
  • Establish and attain quality performance goals and improvement objectives for the company
  • Generate, monitor and report quality metrics to the company executive team, as well as the customer
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory agency, government regulations, contract specifications, and company policies/procedures
  • Effectively represent the company at customer, regulatory agency and internal management meetings
  • Assure that all product and process quality deficiencies are satisfactorily resolved through application of the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process
  • Establish and execute quality improvement plans for systemic product and process defects
  • Assist in the development of short and long range strategic business plans for current and future quality systems

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in quality management system development, and at least two years of managerial experience; equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered
  • Self-motivated, a self-starter and able to keep track of multiple activities at any given time
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to ask questions of individuals at any level as needed
  • Intimate knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with research and development environment is a plus
  • ASQ Certified Lead Auditor or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Audit background also a plus
