EAG Laboratories is looking for an GDMS Analyst to join our team in Syracuse, NY. The Analyst is responsible for performing analytical work, ensuring schedule and performance requirements are met and that the technical quality meets standards. Receives assignments in the form of objectives, with goals and processes to meet goals outlined. Provides direction to team members according to established policies and management guidance. Job Duties:Works independently on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires review of identifiable factorsActs as advisor to team and may become actively involved as required to meet schedules or resolve problemsReleases reports to clients and assists to resolve questions and issues with resultsExercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate actionMay create and validate new methods and proceduresProtects confidential information and proprietary processesHandles customer materials and company equipment in a responsible and efficient mannerProvides technical direction to support staff, technicians and less experienced analysts and assists in their trainingWorks with team members to ensure efficient and effective operationReviews SDS to ensure proper handling and analysis of the materialsUnder guidance from appropriate authority, be able to complete client tasks in an efficient, and a timely manner, and in accordance with appropriate Quality criteriaMinimum Qualifications:Education and Experience:BS in science plus 5+ years specifically related experience, or a combination of education plus related or applicable work experience.GDMS Analytical experienceDemonstrated technical expertise in surface analysis and experience in analytical service.Training is done with a mentor and is documented in the training files. Specialized Knowledge, Skills, or Training:Basic knowledge of scientific discipline; basic relevant technical skills; ability to read and understand protocols, SOPs, and technical guidelines. Compliance with regulatory guidelines and company SOPs (GLP) is required. Ability to learn proper utilization of laboratory equipment is necessary. Good organizational skills; ability to follow direction and good communication skills are required. Mechanical aptitude is a plus.Handling radioactive or toxic chemicals may be required. Knowledge of, or familiarity with use of fume hoods and glove boxes is beneficial. Knowledge of basic office equipment (computers, printers, faxes, copiers, etc.) is necessary.Knowledge of materials is required.Mathematical Skill:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Working knowledge of basic laboratory statistics is required.
