The Telecommunications Division delivers telecommunication infrastructure solutions to utilities, local and state government agencies and the commercial wireless industry. Primary Purpose:

Functions as a senior engineering system design technologist or in a lead engineering system design technology capacity. With minimal supervision, has responsibility for execution of projects administering and configuring commercial plant design tools in a plant design system or AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations) software in support of the client project. May supervise design technology staff on projects of low to medium complexity. Performs system configuration assignments by applying engineering principles and established design practices in support of complex engineering design system concepts. Provides technical system guidance and direction to other Design Technologist professionals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Support: • Executes projects using commercial plant design tools or AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations) softwareto deliver the engineering deliverables to include: ○ Operating Procedures and working instructions ○ Inter discipline modelling approach and execution ○ Engineering requirements and input for configuring the commercial plant design system for multiple related engineering disciplines and tool sets ○ Project team training coordination ○ Template configuration and conformance to Project requirements ○ Provide technical support to all engineering disciplines • Setup, maintain and provide guidance on global work sharing with plant design software • Analyze software issues, suggest workarounds where possible, and report bugs to software vendors when appropriate • Support multiple projects • Support project turnover • Work with project SMEs to provide training on new tools • Typically works on projects with multiple related engineering disciplines, tool sets and 1 or more business lines Software Administration: • Configuration and customization for all engineering disciplines including but not limited to: ○ Data Field additions and changes ○ Complex deliverable modifications ○ Report customization and new report creation ○ Equipment tag format changes ○ Border changes ○ Establish and maintain standard library of CAD symbols, macros and templates • Owns new Project setup and maintenance • Responsible for setup and maintenance of user accounts • Interfaces design tools with additional related software products • Plans and implements software upgrade to minimize impact on project execution • Tests new commercial software releases • Expands knowledge to multiple tools across a suite of tools Processes & Standards: • Reviews and provides feedback to process owners on changes required due to new plant design software • Suggests improvements to processes/standards based on use of commercial plant design software • Reviews and suggests improvements to processes, standards, and guides based on an depth knowledge of multiple design tools System Configuration: • Works with B&V's 3rd party software vendors to setup, maintain, and upgrade databases, networks and servers to support commercial plant design software • Reviews and suggests relational database changes to improve functionality of plant design system • suggests basic system / network improvements • Performs basic analysis of systems to identify existing issues People Management- (supervision – career development- developing professionals, mentoring) • Typically assists with performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any corrective actions required. Resource Management- (staffing): • May assist in monitoring staffing levels and available skill sets for project(s). Assists in identifying resource application needs

Minimum Qualifications:

Typically a minimum of 5 plus years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or sciences preferred or any other degree, specialized training, or experience, that makes the individual uniquely qualified to perform the job responsibilities.
