We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a New Grad in our Main Emergency Dept at Tisch Hospital.
The Emergency Department Nurse Fellowship at NYU Langone Health uses a blended learning approach to educate our nurses. It is offered to recent graduated Registered Nurses with a strong interest in Emergency Nursing. The specialized Nurse Fellowship provides a strong foundation in Emergency Nursing with a combination of didactics and clinical experience. The 3-phase program consists of:
Specialty core curriculum
Rotations to different services such as Critical Care, Med-surgical and etc.
Simulation as a learning strategy. The elements of the residency program are educational interventions that can impact new graduate nurse retention, quality of care, and patient safety. The program is a year in length in order to best optimize the nurse fellow’s learning experience; however a two-year commitment to the unit of hire is required. BSN required. The Emergency Department Nurse Residency Program is a three-phase fellowship that focuses on medical, surgical and high-risk emergency care. In addition, the ED nurse residents are educated in the care of cardiac, respiratory, neurological and trauma emergencies, acquiring the skills they need to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency department.
The program includes four major components:
Patient simulation experiences through the use of SimMan™.
Clinical rotations within selected departments and in the emergency department
Individualized education and mentoring
Professional seminars and education sessions that focus on current emergency nursing modalities
Have prior Emergency Department experience. (i.e. EMT, externships, clinical etc.)
GPA of 3.5 or greater
Available for rotating shifts.

Licensure: Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
Certification: current BLS certification through AHA.
