This role will be a key member of the BlackRock Client Insight Unit (CIU) team, with responsibility for investment and portfolio analysis for a wide variety of BlackRock Institutional clients. The successful candidate will serve as technical expert in crafting client portfolio analyses as well being versed in the BlackRock product suite, and in designing and delivering our annual pension peer study.
Respond to client portfolio assessment requests by crafting robust, customized analyses. Types of requests include, but are not limited to, detailed portfolio analyses such as returns-based style analysis, factor analysis, holdings analysis, risk and return attribution, scenario analysis along with portfolio optimization exercises.
Proactively disseminate investment, portfolio construction and product knowledge throughout the sales and marketing teams and other critical areas.
Participate in client meetings/conference calls in preparation for and, in completion of client projects.
Develop deep and meaningful partnerships with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Product Strategists and related teams.
Partner with Sales team partners to set the agenda and timeframe for creating and delivering client studies.
Continually expand and deepen investment, portfolio construction and BlackRock product knowledge base. Stay abreast of current market environment and the latest relevant investment research. Skills & Qualifications
Masters degree required.
CFA, or progress toward, preferred.
10+ years industry experience, specifically strong investment management knowledge and experience with Pensions and other Institutional clients.
Strong analytical skills are a must: background in statistics, econometrics or other technical disciplines desired.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written along with client-facing (investment consulting/sales) experience.
High level of self-motivation; ability to work independently and with modest supervision.
Interest and aptitude for learning and practically applying portfolio construction and optimization approaches required.
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate vertically/horizontally in a fast paced environment.
Ability and willingness to travel.
Series 7 and 63/66 required.
Position will be based in New York.
