Job Duties: Review construction drawings to ensure zoning/building code compliance and prepare required building department documents. Coordinate signatures of forms by required parties (such as architects, homeowners, and managing agents). Coordinate with field staff to process all applications with the building department. Maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and general contractors and advise them of the status of applications. Troubleshoot issues that arise throughout permitting process. Meet with city examiners. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in architecture, architectural drafting, or a related building design or management field such as construction management, energy management, or facilities management. Must have proficiency with NYC energy conservation codes; NYC construction, building, and electricity codes; NEC codes; electrical and energy systems; and reading/understanding construction documents and blueprints (can be gained through education or work experience).
