Director of Demand Planning

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following.

Develop demand forecasts and distribution schedules at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning

In conjunction with Sales Operations, review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.

Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing

Interact with sales, sales operations, marketing and finance to understand demand forecast drivers.

Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Finance and Customers Category Management and Demand Planning personnel to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.

Use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool. Additionally, ensure the MRP is utilized to its maximum.

Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.

Primary responsibility for inventory management to include purchasing, maintaining, controlling and validating on-hand.

Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises the Purchasing Manager and Operations Coordinator who leads the Shipping & Receiving Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education:
Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Economics fields; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
