Deposit Operations Specialist II

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing specialized operational duties and complex functions associated with deposit products in a multi-bank environment. Performs various exception item handling duties relating to general ledger and customer deposit accounts. Maintain a thorough understanding of the various systems used in the Deposit Operations Department. Provides support and assistance to Retail personnel concerning functions performed in Deposit Operations. Provide direct customer support for complex deposit account related inquires.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • In addition to being able to perform the responsibilities of the Deposit Operations Specialist this position will be skilled in a variety of complex operations including Social Security deceased depositor notification changes; setting up zero balance account agreements; handling requests for account analysis

  • Manages the Bounce Protection product by advising branches of customers with Fresh Start, Charge Offs, etc.; monitoring and performing maintenance as required; coordinating with other departments as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, both which may be altered and re-designed depending upon the department needs or individual circumstances.

  • Assists the team as needed.

  • Assist with maintaining current written procedures for all assigned duties.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum three (3) years banking experience

  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematical skills

  • Talent in analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communications skills

  • Efficient use of technology, ability to type with speed and accuracy

  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office products and Internet/Browser based

  • Moderate report writing capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in business related field or equivalent in experience

  • Previous experience with Bank Regulatory reporting requirements

  • Prior operational experience

Physical Requirements:

Requires the ability to lift 0-10 lbs on a frequent basis. Movement that may be required for a prolonged period of time, includes, but is not limited to: sitting, standing, bending, leaning, pushing, reaching and keying/data entry/typing as is common and typical in a branch/office environment.
