Description
Bachelor’s degree. Management courses desired. Minimum of six years experience as a general Medical Technologist. Must meet all requirements for qualifications of laboratory supervisor as stated in NYSDOH regulations. Demonstrated ability to use relevant equipment and instruments, including standard microscopes, centrifuges, automated cell counting instruments, automated coagulation instruments, automated chemistry analyzers, pc computers and Laboratory Information System. Proficient in the use of a personal computer including word processing. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to independently take initiative and exercise good judgment in decision-making. Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadline pressures and to simultaneously handles multiple projects . Professional maturity that daily sets the tone in carrying out the responsibilities of the position. High degree of honesty, integrity and confidentiality. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned. Ability to work under stress.ASCP registry or equivalent. Registry with a recognized board of registry for medical technology, such as American Society of Clinical Pathologists required, or meets standards set forth by the State of New York.
