Anoplate Corp. Training Manager in Syracuse, New York

Position Summary:

Anoplate is seeking a Training Manager who will lead company-wide training and developmental needs in the organization. The Training Manager will drive training initiatives, identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees while leading our internal Production Training Team in developing the workforce. The Manager will collaborate with operations to determine the key training needs to support business objectives and directly address those needs. This individual will lead the engagement of training programs, and devise our organizational training strategy, oversee its implementation and assess its outcomes for production, technical departments, management, and high potentials.


  • Lead the company-wide development of employee training needs assessment for determination of learning objectives, training curriculum, and appropriate delivery method and tracking.

  • Collaborate with production management to develop individualized training, create development plans, and determine the skills needed to provide a flexible production staff in order to support corporate goals and our customer’s needs.

  • Manage the execution and performance of all aspects production training to include scheduling Production Trainers to work in targeted areas, ensuring development plans are being followed, and that training modules are delivered in accordance with the training plan.

  • Ensure that the production workforce is certified to skill level for each and that 6, 12, 18, 24 week reviews are conducted and all training records are submitted to HR.

  • Works with subject matter experts to update training modules and create new modules as necessary.

  • Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness and periodically report out on it.

  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices.

  • Ensure that all company practices and procedures are communicated effectively.

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or other training applicable discipline with 3+ years as a supervising trainer/ training department manager, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. Experience writing/obtaining training grants, conducting OSHA Compliance Training and ISO 9001 procedures highly desirable. Must possess a technical and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and have the ability to learn new software.
