Kelly Services Manufacturing Quality Manager in Syracuse, New York
The quality manager will be responsible for all quality systems to support compressor production and ensure compliance with code and engineering requirements. They will develop a comprehensive quality manual and system to support all operational functions from material receipts to customer returns. This individual must have excellent problem solving skills, identifying both root causes and solutions and must have the ability to work hands-on solving manufacturing problems.
Master Degree in Engineering or comparable. 7+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance environment, preferably with manufacturing experience. 3+ years in supervisory position SAP QM module experience preferred CMM experience preferred
Essential Duties and Tasks:
Responsible to take usability decision on purchased parts according to the BIPROS Goals (Faster, Better, Cheaper) as well as legal requirements
Receive + Review + Coordinate + Approve Engineering Change Notifications for new product launches or product changes in respect of implementation into supplier processes as well as own processes
Set up and maintain Quality Master Data in SAP
Support Purchasing on supplier selection
Analyze specifications and develop efficient and effective quality concepts (inspection method, gages, inspection features, conformity) on basis of supplier capability by performing and documenting adequate inspections
Standardization + Implementation of concepts
Schedule staff and gage availability
Identify + Clarify deviations on specifications with suppliers. Involve and coordinate other departments within affected company sites and take all necessary counteractions if deviations occur. The objective is to eliminate root causes of deviations and have stable processes
Track + validate effectiveness of quality concepts
Archive relevant quality concept documents
Eventually initiate + coordinate rework
Support material putaway
Responsible for departmental EH&S
Responsible to provide adequate gauging and quality assurance systems that support the value adding processes in determining BIPROS goals (Quality First) as well as legal requirements
Receive + Coordinate Engineering Change Notifications for new product launches or product changes in respect of implementation into own processes
Analyze specifications and develop efficient and effective quality concepts (inspection method, gages, inspection features, conformity) on basis of process capability. Perform inspections and support identification of root causes and support implementation of corrective actions
Provide + train quality concepts to the value adding processes
Track, coordinate and monitor processes.
