Preferred Qualifications:Expertise in bioinformatics, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, "big data" analysis, and computational statistics.
Responsibilities & Requirements:The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics seeks to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Statistics or Biostatistics with expertise in one, or more, of the following areas: bioinformatics, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, “big data” analysis, and computational statistics. Demonstrated strength in applications and/or methodology is essential. The Departments has a large research program ($3M+ annually) and one of the country’s top computing facilities. Stony Brook University, home to 24,000 students, is a member of AAU and operates its own medical center. The University co-manages Brookhaven National Laboratory for the Department of Energy, and is the largest institutional user of the lab. The University also has close connections with Cold Spring harbor Laboratory – all of which afford numerous opportunities for collaborative biomedical statistics research on and off campus.
