          Preferred Qualifications:A strong publication record.

          Responsibilities & Requirements:The Assistant Professor is expected to carry out an independent research program, attract external grant support for independent and collaborative projects, support and foster the development of graduate students, contribute to teaching activities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and participate in School and University Service.

          Applicants will be judged on significance of past research accomplishments, as demonstrated by articles published in peer-reviewed journals; experience and qualifications; letters of recommendation; quality of proposed research; fundability of proposed research; potential impact of proposed research on the mission of the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (SoMAS) and Stony Brook University, including potential for success; and potential impact of the candidate to the educational mission of SoMAS and the University.           Special Notes:This is a tenure track position.FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
