Position Overview:
This Sr Manager, Program Management will report to the Sr Director Program Management within Product Development at Welch Allyn and will be involved in key new product development initiatives.
You will lead and manage a highly visible software project to develop and launch an innovative platform-based patient monitoring solution to be used in hospital environments, and utilizing current technologies, a key new product initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading a cross functional team distributed in multiple locations, you will ensure stakeholder alignment, establish and meet project milestones, identify conflicts or issues and develop solutions. In particular, align the project plan to the overall corporate architectural strategy to drive new product development in line with the corporate goals.
Your understanding of object oriented programming principles, development languages, IT networks, and configuration management tools have given you credibility with software technical managers.
Required Background:
Your utilization of Lean product development principles and sprint / scrum methods has helped product development teams to manage budget, schedule, and scope trade-offs while maintaining quality.
Your understanding of project management principles enables you to build a solid project plan with a firm foundation to iterate from, identify priority issues, and effectively mitigate risk with cross functional teams comprised of Engineering, Test, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Clinical, Service, Product Data Management (Documentation Control), Customer Care, Technical Publications, Sourcing, Finance, and Legal.
Your ability to create products that technically interface with other systems products will be highly valued, especially Microsoft Windows based PC systems within a hospital setting. Prior experience with satisfying FDA regulatory requirements in designing systems or satisfying other regulatory requirements is helpful. Ability to engage in technical discussions with technical staff is key, so some programming knowledge, especially .NET is recommended.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, EE, Engineering, or other technical concentration. 10-15 years of experience managing program teams with a medical device manufacturer, medical consulting firm, or other systems manufacturer that produce products that attach to other systems. Team leadership is key.
