SUMMARY : Administers various Human Resource programs and procedures for all company personnel relating to benefits, compensation, employee relations, performance appraisals, job descriptions, recruitment, safety, training and development, company policies, databases and is a back-up for the switchboard.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Not intended to be a complete list and other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists department staff in carrying out various human resources programs, policies and procedures.

  • Assists in processing paperwork for new employee orientations, termination and other personnel action items.

  • Schedules and coordinates training programs, maintains training records and recordkeeping

  • Assist with recruitment efforts: helps with scheduling pre-employment screening, scheduling interviews, reference checks, coordinating the use of temporary employees, and printing resumes.

  • Responds to requests for information, answers employee questions regarding policies, and procedures.

  • Assists with implementing programs such as recognition, health fair, communication programs, etc.

  • Conducts new employee orientation to ensure employees understand company policies, procedure and benefit programs.

  • Maintains organizational charts and bulletin boards.

  • Administers employee of the month/qtr. and service awards.

  • Creates and maintains employee personnel files.

  • Participates in special projects.

  • Assists with implementing safety programs.

  • Assists in accident investigations, prepares reports, coordinates medical appointments and follow-up.

  • Participates as a member of the safety committee, employee activities committee and other project teams on a rotational basis

  • Complies with health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains human resource information records and compiles reports.

  • General filing and upkeep of employee records

  • Assists in various audits.

  • Assists in the preparation of government reports.

  • Assists with employee relation activities.

  • Is a back-up for the switchboard. CROSS TRAINED IN THESE DUTIES (Back up required by ISO Certification):

  • Creating job descriptions

  • Safety record keeping, reports, and logs.   • Hands on experience with Access database maintenance & report writing a plus.

  • HRIS experience helpful.
