          Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Licensing Manager - Office of Technology Development in New York New York United States

          Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Office of Technology Development is a dynamic and innovative group responsible for managing the rights to all inventions resulting from research or from other developmental work conducted by MSKCC employees or with MSKCC resources. The OTD proactively interacts with MSKCC scientists to learn about and to evaluate new technologies that may have commercial potential. As appropriate, OTD seeks patent protection for such technologies, works with inventors to further their development and seeks licensees for the commercial development of such technologies. We are seeking a Licensing Manager to join our team.

          TheLicensing Managerworks independently and is responsible for participating in the planning and implementation of strategies to advance, market and license scientific inventions generated by MSKCC staff to maximize the potential value of such inventions to the public and to the institution. Primary responsibilities include identifying inventions and evaluating them for commercial potential and patentability; patenting inventions; identifying resources for the development of MSKCC technologies; technology marketing; licensing and start-up formation; and management of research collaborations, alliances and license agreements.

          Qualified candidate will have strong scientific background/education, PhD highly preferred, and 2 years experience in active technology development and commercialization of academic inventions. Experience with tech transfer, business development or investment analysis required.
