Job Description: NB Alternatives - Private Equity is a rapidly growing group within Neuberger Berman with over $25 billion of investor commitments across our private equity fund of funds, secondary investments, co-investment and direct investment areas, including DYAL Capital. Dyal Capital is an investment management business dedicated to acquiring minority equity stakes in established alternative asset managers (i.e., hedge funds with AUM of over $1.5bn to $20bn and industry-leading private equity firms.). Dyal's investors include many large public and corporate pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and family offices. Since December 2011, the Dyal team has completed twenty investments from three permanent capital vehicles totaling approximately $9 billion of aggregate AUM. Dyal's objective is to ultimately partner with 30+ institutional quality alternative asset management firms that have experienced management teams and successful track records. Dyal is seeking to add a member to its Investment Team with a finance, accounting and valuation background. As a minority investor in sophisticated asset management firms, the accounting, valuation and operations functions are critical control functions with respect to the business. This individual will bear day-to-day responsibility for managing the finance and accounting work streams within Dyal and will be fully integrated into the Investment Team. In this role this individual will collaborate closely with Dyal's senior management in all aspects of Dyal's day to day operations. Responsibilities: - Accounting for fund and allocations as it relates to various Private Equity Funds and structures including allocation of profit and loss, capital calls, distributions and requisite fee calculations and quarterly investor and fund level reporting - Product and valuation control for private equity investments based on documentation and accounting policy underpinning each investment;

  • Responsible for day to day operations including capital calls, distributions, cash management

  • Audited (including annual year end audit) and un-audited financial statements in accordance with requisite reporting requirements

  • Work closely with Dyal team and NB management on new products, investments and other strategic initiatives Qualifications: - Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance

  • 4-7 years of experience in a fund controller (hedge fund or private equity) and/or valuation capacity

  • Solid knowledge of hedge fund and private equity strategies and firms; high degree of intellectual curiosity about the alternatives industry and its business dynamics; - Self-starting attitude and entrepreneurial spirit balanced with a commitment to teamwork;

  • Exceptional ability to multi-task while still maintaining a fine-tuned attention to detail; and
