SEI Investments Director, Private Equity Funds in New York, New York

The Director in the Alternative Investment Funds Department is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of premium accounting services to our external clients connected to the Director’s bundle of service relationships (i.e., responsibility and authority over the day-to-day tactical accounting operations management related to those client relationships). The Director’s responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner consistent with the vision, goals and policies of the unit. The Director has operational ownership and leadership for a bundle of service relationships and will be expected to work with the unit’s Senior Operations Officers, other Directors and unit personnel; the product and market units; and external clients to coordinate, facilitate and execute on the delivery of a cost-focused, efficient, standardized and predictable service to the respective marketplace.

The Director role will manage the operations and be responsible for implementation and process improvement. This position will develop and enhance client relationships. In addition, this position will be responsible for growing new business and marketing services.

The responsibilities for this position may include some or all of the following:

Client Management Ensure the overall quality and delivery of Fund Accounting, Partnership Accounting, Investor Reporting and Administrative services in accordance with client-specific service model Match Alternative Product Service capabilities to clients needs Serve as technical and operational resource for client Understand, communicate and resolve unique client issues along with SEI Relationship Teams Technical Consulting Identify, interpret, apply and communicate accounting and industry rules and regulations Departmental Leadership Create, communicate, monitor and reinforce departmental vision, goals and objectives Assist with the ongoing development of service capabilities for the alternative investment product offering in pace with industry demands Actively participate in unit’s weekly senior management meetings and initiatives Participate in management skills training and development of staff Set and enforce departmental policies

Sales Support Write and coordinate fund accounting-related responses to RFP’s and RFI’s Participate in site visits and presentations to prospective clients

Administrative Oversight Review financial statements, fund documents, etc. Work closely with Tax and Legal Departments on unique issues Operational Oversight Provide daily oversight and review of significant threshold deviations Manage staff resources to ensure proper client service Set departmental policies and procedures related to the operational control environment Monitor and oversee third party vendor performance as it relates to the daily operations BS/BA degree in business, finance or related field, or the equivalent in education and work experience MBA or MS Accounting, or advanced degree preferred 8 years of fund accounting experience, Alternative Investment experience a plus 5 years supervisory or management experience preferred Excellent communication skills (Strong written and oral communication skills) Team oriented Demonstrate knowledge of alternative investment products and structures, operational experience a plus Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
