Software Engineering Intern/Co-Op

Summary:

Assist in the research, design, and development of computer software systems in conjunction with hardware product development.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Uses accepted software tools and methods to test, debug and document applications.

  2. Demonstrates ability to learn and maintain current code base.

  3. Develop software applications and utilities in C++ and C#.

  4. Effectively works with others to troubleshoot problems.

  5. Support software quality testing.

  6. Work 40 hours per week.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Working towards a BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent degrees.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • 2 plus years’ experience with C++ or C#.

  • Highly flexible, quality driven, goal oriented and able to participate in a team environment.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft technology (Visual C++, C#, MFC, .Net, Remoting, etc).

  • Experience with Databases (MS Access, SQL Server).

Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality:

Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to access and manipulate various objects, tools, or controls.

Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis.

Position requires the ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings.

Requires the ability to communicate clearly in giving presentations.

Must be able to communicate clearly with fellow workers.

The ability to travel to customer sites or technical conferences may occasionally be required.
