Makr is a design product for next-generation makers. Available on iOS and Web, Makr provides users with powerful tools to create branding and custom products such as logos, printed cards and labels, and swag. The Makr team is a small and mighty group of design and tech obsessed individuals based in a co-working space in Brooklyn.

We are looking for a UI developer to join our growing team. This individual will collaborate with a larger team of developers to drive UI development standards and work to continually enhance the customer facing aspects. The development team will work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

The ideal candidate must be able to thrive in an environment where change is constant. The development team uses Agile and Lean methodologies where all roles collaborate with one another to complete each unit of work – the story. This means communication skills and interpersonal skills are a must for this position. This position will also work very closely with the design team from advising on implementation as designs are in progress to pairings for refining once implemented. The ideal candidate has a passion for design and collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities: * Collaborate with our Senior UI/UX Designer on implementing our UI/UX vision * Build and iterate on our UI with all screen sizes in mind * Own the use of technologies in the presentation layer * Establish and enforce best practices RE: styles, classes, partials, mix-ins * Assist with improving Critical Rendering Path Performance * Stay abreast of evolving industry and emerging trends & technologies

Basic Qualifications: * 1-3 years experience doing UI/Front-end development with a solid knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, and CSS3 as well as building web applications using the latest standards-based approaches. * Familiarity with frameworks and libraries including Angular, React,Bootstrap, Material DesignExpertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch with ability to execute high-level creative designs. * Mastery of cross-browser, cross-platform markup, layout and responsive designtechniques. * Experience with Javascript-based build tools such as Grunt or Gulp * Demonstrable knowledge of Semantic HTML and SEO. * Experience with server-side technologies like Node.js, Ruby on Rails (or similar server generation technologies). * A strong understanding of Git. * An eye for details and a driving passion to fix things Preferred: * Detail oriented * Excellent communication skills * Interest and knowledge of design
