InvestorServices Control Officer – Vice President – Alternatives Investor Serviceswithin the Global Fund Services

Custody & Fund Services (CFS) is a business within Investor Services that offers three complementary services: Custody , which provides safekeeping, settlement, asset servicing, foreign exchange and cash management services to asset managers, insurance companies and investment funds across approximately 100 securities markets; FundServices , which provides accounting and administration services to traditional and alternative asset managers, in addition to trust and fiduciary, transfer agency, compliance and portfolio reporting services; and, which provides agent lending of client securities to broker dealers and other financial institutions as well as issuance and cancellation of American and Global Depositary Receipts.

The role is to be the Business Control Officer for the AlternativesInvestor Services (AIS) business in WHEM. The AIS BCO role is part of the Global Fund Services team which report into the Investor Services BCO.

The BCO role is a key role for the business in the current environment and to meet the increasing demands from the business, the role has continued to evolve. The focus of the role is now on ownership, enhancement and execution of the controls. As the role continues to grow in importance it will continue to evolve and the successful candidate will have a key role to play in defining changes to the role going forward.

The Business Control Officers focus will:

  • Act as trusted Front Office/FundAccounting/Investor Reporting control advisor

  • Represent WHEM AIS interests vis a viscontrol/regulatory initiatives

  • Execute and implement control priorities andstrategy

  • Manage Control and Risk governance implementationand reporting

Key responsibilities include

  • Facilitatorof full business control governance

  • Controland regulatory governance management

  • Prep forinternal and external regulatory & control meetings/reviews

  • RCSA, Issues Management, Audit readiness, controldeep dive

  • Manage ateam of two individuals

The AIS Control Manager will work closely with Product, Investor Reporting and Fund Accounting teams on a daily basis. They will also interact with multiple line and corporate functions and need to be able to partner effectively across the teams supporting Alternatives (Hedge Funds and Private Equity Real Estate Funds). The individual will need to establish very strong relationships with the AIS business and develop a deep understanding of the business, its control challenges, the architecture and products.

The candidate should be interested in working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, participating in key initiatives and becoming involved in a diverse set of issues that will have a direct impact on the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of AIS (HedgeFunds and Private Equity/Real Estate Funds) products and markets

  • Supervisory experience

  • Highly motivated, energeticself-starter who takes ownership

  • Good organizational skills- manages & prioritizes multiple tasks across different time horizonswithin deadlines

  • Strong people managementand leadership experience

  • Understanding of the end toend product life cycle
