A tenure-track assistant/associate professor is sought to teach three 3-credit economics courses at the undergraduate or graduate levels each semester. Preference will be given to the rank of assistant professor, although we are also open to highly qualified candidates at the rank of associate professor. Courses may include Macro-Economics, Micro-Economics, Contemporary Economic Issues (a service course for non­-majors), Intermediate Statistics/Data Analysis/ Econometrics as well as other economics courses consistent with academic preparation, professional experiences, and the emerging needs of the School. Contribute to the development of additional courses in the fields of Economics as needed. Engage in extracurricular activities with students and the local business community. Contribute to the field through published scholarship consistent with standards of performance required for continuing appointment (tenure). The position also carries student advisement responsibilities and other service obligations consistent with the needs of the Department, School, College, and Profession.

Required Qualifications:

PhD or DBA (in-hand by Aug 2018 or ABD to be completed within 6 months of appointment) from an AACSB accredited business school with a major in Economics.

Demonstrated student focus, effectiveness, and potential for success teaching college level courses, including in online and hybrid formats.

Qualified, by professional or academic experience, to teach graduate-level courses.

Scholarly potential demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications or high-quality work in progress. Strong work ethic, commitment to continuous improvement, ability to teach in a multi-cultural environment, and collegial and team-oriented demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completed doctorate in Economics from an AACSB accredited business school

Refereed journal publications on topics related to economics in press or published.

Experience in teaching courses such as Macro-economics, Contemporary Economic Issues, Micro-economics, Intermediate Statistics/Econometrics/Data Analysis including in online/hybrid formats Experience in developing and coordinating curricular and co-curricular programming.

Experience with community-based and/ or service learning pedagogical practices.

Professional experience in economics.
