SCHEDULE:37.5 hours/week, Monday - Friday


  • Provide counseling, training, support and assistance to program participants in development of work skills, personal growth and career planning.

  • Actively participate as a member of the individual's planning team.

  • Conduct performance assessments, prepare reports and service delivery documentation.

  • Provide record management and documentation related to service delivery to meet regulatory requirements

  • Incorporate the Agency values in the performance of all job duties.


The person in this position should exhibit the following characteristics & abilities:

  • The person in this position has basic Microsoft Office skills.

  • The Vocational Counselor has organizational skills, experience with conflict resolution and communication skills.

  • The person in this position is able to operate a computer and various office equipment.

  • The person in this position is to maintain certification in First Aid, CPR, SCIP and Medication Administration.


  • Associates degree in Human Services or closely related field required, Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Two years of related experience

  • Valid NYS driver's license and driving record acceptable to the agency.

  • Certification in First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration and SCIP within orientation period
