SUMMARY
The QC Laboratory Tech performs house-keeping, clerical and administrative functions in a support role within the laboratory operation. The Laboratory Associate will work in a detail oriented a compliant manner in a fast paced, moderately stressful environment and is expected to adhere to deadlines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Performs basic house-keeping items related to the laboratory including but not limited to: glassware cleaning; dusting; cleaning counters and cabinets.
* Performs clerical duties such as scanning, filing and archiving documents.
* Assists Laboratory Management in gathering data for reports
* Responsible for the appropriate documentation and disposal of unused laboratory samples and expired reagents.

ยท Maintains work area and documentation in a neat and ordered fashion
* Works with computers as well as laboratory software, or proprietary software as needed
* Assists in the waste disposal for the laboratory waste
* Assists in transporting samples and waste between different buildings

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* May require sampling of active substances and excipients
* Responsible for the appropriate documentation and disposal of unused laboratory samples and expired reagents.
* May require work on laboratory projects to improve efficiency or compliance.
* Maintain and demonstrate a high level of personal and professional integrity and report any suspicious activity to laboratory management.
* Additional responsibilities may be assigned by Laboratory Supervisors or Managers, as needed

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Safety glasses, lab coats and close toed shoes are required in all laboratory areas. Additional safety equipment such as respirators, face shields, or safety shoes etc. may be required for specific tasks.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* High School Diploma
* 0-5 years of demonstrated excellence in a laboratory setting
* Prior experience in a pharmaceutical (cGMP) laboratory setting is preferred, but not required

JOB PREREQUISITES
* All full-time employees are required to work a 40 hour week. At times, additional hours during the weekdays, evenings and/or weekends will be required to complete tasks and meet deadlines. All applicants must be able to meet the attendance standards.
* Must have a working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices, United States Pharmacopea, current Code of Federal Regulations (21 CFR parts 11, 210, 211, 820) and other FDA regulations and guidance's.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for written work and PC use. Additional physical requirements include the ability to hear accurately the spoken word with moderate office noise (or plant noise).
